FENCES
Javascript game

FENCES is a minimalist-style board game built in Javscript using the Three.js library. Your goal is to move your piece from one end of the board to the other before your opponent can do the same. I was inspired by the game Quoridors™️ simple design and potential for deep strategy.

A little about me...

I was born and raised in Connecticut, but moved to Brooklyn, NY after graduating college. For over a decade, I managed restaurants and cafes all while working as an indepenent musician both in bands as well as writing, recording and playing my own music. Most recently I managed Southside, a community-oriented cafe in the South Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn, where I honed my craft and earned my Counter Culture Coffee barista certification in 2019.

After many years of developing my management skills, I felt that I had taken my career as far as I could and I was missing something. I needed a career that challenged me again. On the advice of some friends who work in the field, I decided to test the Software Engineering waters and was immediately enamored with how I could write a line of code and see it play out on a screen. I attended App Academy's 16 week bootcamp and flourished in the fast-paced, quick-learning environment. Through it all I fell in love with the creativity and problem solving that goes into creating an application. With this passion and my drive and skills, I plan to make an impact in the field wherever I take it.

In my spare time music continues to be a passion, but I have also discovered a love for writing fiction (no surprise, considering my affinity towards sci-fi and fantasy). I still live in Brooklyn with my wonderful partner, Gwen, and my two cats Orson and Oblina. During the pandemic I began playing dungeons & dragons online with some friends from all over the US (and one from New Zealand) and we still play regularly. Creativity and story telling continues to be a huge driving force in my life that I bring to every new project.
